Scarborough also shattered a long standing PBA record held by Jim Tilton, who opened the 1985 Molson Golden Bowling Challenge with 23 straight strikes. He ended up averaging 205 for his final 13 games and tied for 49th with a 223.3 average.

He spoke about the record to the Charlotte Observer,

“I’m pretty surprised,” Scarborough said. “I had the shot, I took my time and it worked out. To be honest, no, I wasn’t nervous.”

Scarborough was also competing in his second event in the renamed PBA Senior Tour. He said his previous high three-game series was an 838 and he had bowled 14 prior 300 games. As well, Scarborough was a PBA member from 1991 to 2001 and twice bowled in standard PBA Tour events. He rejoined when he turned 50 in October.

The reason for the RECALL is because of an undeclared allergen and mis-branding. The product contains soy, a known allergen not declared on the label.

The match came down to an epic finale. With Brooklyn holding a two-pin lead, each team’s anchormen; Weber (Kingpins) and Sean Rash (Brooklyn) faced off in the 10th frame. Weber took the right lanes, striking and sparing. However, Rash responded, with two clutch strikes and nine count to beat WTT in the finale, 225-215.

After the match, Rash talked the Detroit Free Press,

“We bowled a couple matches, and we finished on the right side and it backfired on us because it hooked more,” Rash said. “They asked me to be on the bottom. I said if I was going to be on the bottom, I wanted to finish on the left lane because I knew my ball would push through it and my rev rate would tip in the mid-lane and get the 10 (pin) out.”

Earl Anthony Players Championship

Rash did suffer a loss during the PBA Winter Swing, at the hands of 2012 PBA Chameleon Champion, Scott Norton, in the Earl Anthony Players Championship finale with a score of 219-191. Norton, 2010-11 PBA Rookie of the Year and son of USBC and PWBA Hall of Fame bowler, Virginia Norton, claimed his second title of the 2013 GEICO PBA World Series of Bowling; becoming the first bowler to earn multiple victories this season.

Norton received $25,000 for the top prize in the tournament and Rash received $13,000 for second place. The next stop on the PBA Tour is the Brunswick Zone Carolier in North Brunswick, N.J., for the United States Bowling Congress Masters on Feb. 18-24, 2013.

The Players Championship, a new idea by the PBA set to debut in Detroit, involves 5-man teams comprised of both celebrity team owners and pro bowlers. Based on the pin totals of each five player team, the top three teams will advance to League Show #4 Baker Stepladder Finals. The teams who finish 4th – 8th will advance to the TV Leaguhttp://bcmmag.wordpress.com/wp-admin/post.php?post=785&action=edite Clash Match, determining the 4th seeded team in the stepladder.
