U.S. POLYCHEM’S ALEX BENTON DIES

Alex Benton was born to sell.

He had a smile that transformed strangers into instant friends, and a twinkle in his eyes that conveyed his belief in the lane care products he sold for US Polychemical Corporation.

Benton, who passed away a few days ago, was already with the company when it entered the bowling industry in 1980 and served as that division’s national sales manager ever since.

“Alex was a very hard-working member of our team, always on the phone or visiting customers,” said US Polychemical President Bruce Gebhardt. “He was our technical go-to guy for all things bowling.”

Benton loved attending BPAA’s International Bowl Expo because it gave him an opportunity to see so many clients — whom he considered friends — in one place.

“He will be missed by all his customers and friends,” Gebhardt added.
