ROUND1, BOWLERO MOVING INTO NORDSTOM, MACY’S SPACES

Northern California, which has seen numerous traditional centers close in recent years, is getting two new bowling-based entertainment venues.

Round1 is opening in the Stonetown Galleria Mall in San Francisco in a space formerly occupied by a Nordstrom department store. The company operates more than 100 centers in Japan and more than 50 in the United States.

Meanwhile, Bowlero Corp. has opened a venue in the Westfield Valley Fair mall in Santa Clara, Calif., next door to a Macy’s Men’s Store. 

Bowlero also has entered into an agreement to acquire The Barn Entertainment Center in Holland, Michigan. Proprietor Phil Huffman — who also has operated axe-throwing and escape-room venues — said Bowlero officials told him they do not plan to make many changes and that the current staff will remain in place.
