The collegiate doubles team of Mollie Gizicki and Zach Lipson from Commerce, Michigan, along with Coach Verity Crawley, captured the title of Jackpot Classic At Sea international champions, earning $1,000 in USBC SMART scholarship funds onboard Norwegian Cruise Lines’ Epic.
A field of 21 doubles teams took to the ship’s lanes in the first-of-its-kind bowling tournament on a cruise ship.
Joesette Triplett and Darrell Copper of Dallas, Oregon, with coach Kyle Troup, came in second and won $600.
Kim Hall and Dave Arnold from Tacoma, Washington, finished third and earned $500.
Ten doubles teams cashed as part of the $4,200 prize fund provided by the Washington State BPA, Western Bowling Proprietors Insurance and Evergreen Lanes in Everett, Washington.
Kyle Troup, the 2021 PBA Player of the Year, used the cruise to propose to Breanna Steward on the beach in Puerto Rico. (She said yes.)
