‘BOWLING CLASSIC’ ADDED TO SUPER BOWL WEEK IN VEGAS

The week leading up to an NFL Super Bowl Game is busy for any host city, the calendar jammed with an array of special events.

For Super Bowl LVIII in Las Vegas, for instance, NFL Green is teaming up with the Las Vegas Super Bowl Host Committee, the Las Vegas Raiders, Clark County Parks, Verizon and others for a sports equipment, book and school supply donation project called Super Kids-Super Sharing. The 25th annual Super Bowl Soulful Celebration will be held at The Pearl Theater at Palms Casino Resort. Taste of the NFL is the Super Bowl’s largest culinary experience and is a hot ticket for foodies and football fans. The Super Bowl Breakfast is a private event that has taken place in the Super Bowl host city every year since 1988. It will be held at Caesars Palace. The family-friendly Super Bowl Experience, described by the NFL as an interactive football theme park, will run Feb. 7-10 at the Mandalay Bay Convention Center. The list goes on.

And to that list we can add the Super Bowl Bowling Classic sponsored by Pepsi. It will take place on Friday, Feb. 9, at the South Point Bowling Plaza beginning at noon Pacific.

At the Super Bowl Bowling Classic, football fans will have the opportunity to bowl with current NFL players and NFL Legends to support community football players across the country. The NFL Foundation is a nonprofit organization dedicated to improving the lives of those touched by the game of football — from players at all levels to communities across the country.

Hosting the event will be NFL Legend and Super Bowl champion DeMarcus Ware.

“Since retiring from the NFL, I’ve enjoyed having more time to connect with fans — whether it’s serving in the community or having more time to bowl with the family,” said Ware. “Even my NFL teammates and I cherished our monthly bowling outings, and now I get to dust off my skills… That’s why partnering with Go Bowling and Pepsi for the Super Bowl Bowling Classic will be so great. I can be competitive again while hanging out with fans who are as excited for this year’s Super Bowl as I am. Big thanks to Go Bowling and Pepsi for inviting me to host.”

Noted BPAA Executive Director Frank DeSocio: “Go Bowling connects communities through our passion for the sport, and there’s no bigger and better time to bring the sports community together than the Super Bowl. We’re proud that the Super Bowl Bowling Classic will support the NFL Foundation, which shares our passion for expanding the love of sport through community engagement. Whether attendees are bowling beginners or strikers, all are welcome to join us and show the pro athletes what they’ve got.”

The entry fee of $350 includes a commemorative Super Bowl LVIII bowling ball, pin and jersey, along with a buffet meal with Pepsi-Cola soft drinks, beer or wine. Bowlers may also bring a guest for a $100 donation, which includes the buffet and beverages.
