DUCKPINS FOR DOWNTOWN KALAMAZOO

The city of Kalamazoo, home to Western Michigan University, now offers students and others who visit the downtown area an opportunity to experience the fun of duckpin bowling.

Four lanes of the “downsized” version of tenpin bowling and the city’s first self-pour tap wall are featured at Crafted Copper, which opened in a new space on Thursday, Sept. 12.

“We were going to open [the next day], but once we realized that was Friday the 13th, we figured it would be a safer bet to open on Thursday,” General Manager James St. John told Michigan Live.

Crafted Copper won’t have the Kalamazoo duckpin market cornered for long. There are plans for duckpin lanes to be installed at the former space of Old Burdick’s at the Radisson Hotel.
