A couple in Fort Wayne, Indiana, has opened a facility that makes bowling — which can be a noisy activity — more sensory friendly for individuals who have trouble tolerating loud sound.
The House of Pins of Fort Wayne, developed by Sarah and Jason McMillan, includes two bowling lanes, a pool table, karaoke, music and a movie screen, and provides visitors with noise-cancelling headphones and fidgets.
Other sensory accommodations, including light-dimming, also are provided to make the venue appealing to the elderly and those on the autism spectrum.
