President Jimmy Carter, who passed away on Dec. 29 at age 100, was a devout Christian, successful peanut farmer and savvy politician.
But he wasn’t much of a bowler, although, like many politicians, he did campaign at bowling centers in the days they were packed with league bowlers (i.e., voters).
While still governor of Georgia, Carter rolled the ceremonial first ball at the Women’s International Bowling Congress Championships at Decatur Suburban Lanes.
But during his time as President, there is no record of him using the White House lanes.
