The inaugural Washington State BPA Jackpot Classic Powered by EDGE String Pinspotters will be held March 7-9 at the Grand Sierra Resort Bowling Center in Reno.
The tournament, open to 50 four-person teams, will be one of QubicaAMF’s “Showcase Events” for its EDGE String Pinspotters, and proprietors from across the country are expected to be on hand to see the machines in action.
In addition to the team competition, there also will be doubles and singles events, with a full-team entry covering all events costing $1,200. Brackets also will be offered, as well as an optional all-events prize fund.
PWBA stars Stefanie Johnson and Clara Guerrero will be on hand, and a raffle will be held for an opportunity to bowl with them as VIP doubles partners.
Bob Thomas, a name synonymous with bowling in Reno, has agreed to help produce the tournament.
The weekend will conclude with an awards brunch in the resort’s Crystal Ballroom, hosted by PBA champion John Blanchard.
This will be the third Jackpot Classic operated by the WSBPA, joining the original staged annually in Las Vegas for nearly three decades and a second now held on a cruise ship.
