LONG BEACH TO GET NEW LUCKY STRIKE VENUE

Residents of Long Beach, California, soon will have an entertainment option beyond racing’s Grand Prix of Long Beach and The Queen Mary luxury ship.

City officials have given the go-ahead for a building that formerly housed an Orchard Hardware Store to be transformed into a Lucky Strike Bowling venue.

Plans call for the 40,000-square-foot space to house 34 lanes, three arcade areas, and a full bar and restaurant.

The building has been vacant since 2019, and the presence of Lucky Strike could be a boon for other businesses in the Douglas Park area. It’s located near the park — once home to a Douglas Aircraft manufacturing plant — near today’s Long Beach Airport and the Lakewood Golf Course.
