INTERNATIONAL FLAVOR FOR BBIA GATHERING

For the first time since 1947, Billiard and Bowling Institute of America members gathered in Canada for a day and a half of meetings involving bowling’s manufacturers and distributors.

As outgoing BBIA President Chris Sand noted, “BBIA was created to bring competitors together — not to agree on everything, but to build a stronger foundation for everyone. It’s a place for conversation, collaboration and shared vision.”

The 2025 event took place at the Fairmont Resort in Mont-Tremblant, Quebec, Canada, situated in the Laurentian Mountain range. The resort and surrounding village provided a unique setting for the gathering.

The international flavor was enhanced by the presence of new member and first-time attendee Valcke Group, which is based in Wevelgem, Belgium.

Following the meetings, a general session included the election of BBIA’s newest board member, Doug Dukes of Kegel, who will serve with incoming President Mark Buffa. Discussion topics ranged from the BBIA Industry Catalog to the association’s annual convention.

The event culminated with the Industry Service Award dinner, at which 2025 recipient Frank Buffa regaled attendees with coaching and travel adventures as he stressed the importance of helping bowlers improve, adding that the future of bowling depends on it.
