GLOBAL BEC ROUNDUP, FROM FRANCE TO ZIMBABWE

• A second Hall U Need location has opened in the Westfield Carré Sénart shopping center in Lieusaint, France. Bowling, mini-golf and karaoke headline the list of attractions, although guests also may partake of billiards, darts and virtual-reality experiences. Hall U Need debuted in 2021 in Saint-Andre-lez-Lille, France, and that venue was named “Best Family Entertainment Center” in the International Division of BCM’s 2021 Bowling Center Architecture and Design Awards.

• Also in France, Val d’Europe is adding a family entertainment center that includes bowling, laser tag, go-karts and karaoke. Val d’Europe, located in the easternmost sector of the new town of Marne-la-Vallée, east of Paris, was originally built as part of a public–private partnership between The Walt Disney Company and France.

• Bowling is part of the new Sindbad’s Wonderland at the Dolmen Mall in Lahore. A large redemption arcade, virtual reality, a water playground and numerous other attractions have been selected to provide entertainment for families with children from toddlers to teens. Brunswick Bowling provided the equipment for the four tenpin lanes.

• Sunset Superbowl in Toowoomba, Queensland, has been acquired by iPlay Australia, a company that operates more than 25 FECs across Australia — including, now, three in Toowoomba, a city of 142,000 known for its Victorian architecture.

• New to the Promenade Mall in Thornhill, Ontario, Canada, is Bowls & Blasters, which includes 12 bowling lanes, bumper cars, a laser tag arena and an arcade with games curated by Player One Amusement Group.

• Ground Control Entertainment plans to open an entertainment center dubbed Ground Control in downtown Doha, Qatar. The facility would include bowling, racing simulators, augmented reality darts and arcade games. The parent company, Ground Control Entertainment, announced it also would be opening a Play-doh Fun Factory and a Nerf Action Xperience in the same area.

• The owners of Jungle Adventures in Peine, Germany, are hoping to open this summer as they await delivery of bowling, laser tag, axe throwing and indoor playground equipment to be installed in a former retail space. Among the cities that borders Peine is, appropriately enough, one named Brunswick.

• Bulawayo, the second largest city in Zimbabwe, will soon be the home of a venue slated to include five tenpin bowling lanes, a restaurant and a full-service bar. The name selected for the business is Tables and Pins.
