JIM BEAM RECREATES PIN-SHAPED BOURBON BOTTLE

Jim Beam has unveiled a limited-edition 8-year-old bourbon packaged in a bowling pin-shaped bottle — a nod to a historic Beam decanter.

The Beam Pin Bottle celebrates the 230th anniversary of the James B. Beam Distilling Co. and was released on Aug. 23, “Jim Beam Day,” exclusively at the distillery in Clermont, Kentucky. It has a suggested retail price of $99.99.

The new bottle is a nod to more than 3,000 unique decanters released by the James B. Beam Distilling Co. from the 1940s to the 1990s, according to the company. The Beam Pin decanter was reportedly a personal favorite of Jim Beam himself, and the company says he would gift bottles to friends, family and business associates for special occasions.

This re-creation of the original Pin Bottle is filled with liquid from the same nine-story warehouses, aged eight years and bottled at 86.8 proof, honoring the maturation site, age and proof of the original Beam Pin Decanter release.
