Someone once said, “If you can’t see a child’s worth, neither can they.”
It takes strong leaders to understand that their time in the spotlight will fade, and it’s important for an organization like the Bowling Proprietors’ Association of America to have qualified successors waiting in the wings.
With that in mind, some years ago, BPAA launched an initiative known as “The Young Guns.” The goal was to encourage members under age 40 to get more involved in the volunteer side of the organization and help shape its future. Over time, members of “The Young Guns” joined the BPAA Board of Directors, chaired committees and ascended to the presidency of the association. One (Nancy Schenk) even was inducted into the BPAA Hall of Fame as a recipient of the Victor Lerner Award.
Now, the concept is being resurrected as BPAA seeks the next generation of leaders. If you’re under 40 and would like to get involved at the national level, or if you know someone who should, go to: https://form.jotform.com/252156357729162
