A 30-LANE BEC IS PLANNED FOR MAUI

Skyrocketing land prices have forced countless bowling center owners either to close their doors or sell their property to developers.

Few places in America have higher land values than the islands of Hawaii, but lifelong Maui resident Norman Franco has decided to buck the odds and develop a 30-lane bowling-based family entertainment center.

The two-level venue also will include bumper cars and a large arcade. Franco and investors have pooled their resources to purchase a portion of the Kahului Shopping Center, and will use that space for their venture, intended to bring a much-needed family-oriented destination to Hawaii’s second-largest island.

According to reports, another ownership group will be transforming the rest of the shopping center into restaurants, a sports bar and condominiums.
