SPARE TIME ACQUIRES LAND FOR VENUE IN ROGERS, ARK.

A new Spare Time Entertainment venue is coming to the Arkansas community of Rogers, the city where the first Walmart store — then known as Walmart Discount City — opened in 1962.

Tim Corley, president of Bowl New England, the parent company of Spare Time Entertainment, said that the Rogers market had been on the company’s radar for a few years. Land for the new Spare Time location was purchased in the Pinnacle Hills Promenade area, which is considered the retail hub of northwest Arkansas.

Rogers has been experiencing significant growth in recent years, fueled by a booming job market and low unemployment, with healthcare, retail and logistics among its more successful sectors. The city’s population is expected to top 77,000 by year’s end.

Pinnacle Hills Promenade opened in 2006 and features Bass Pro Shops, Dillard’s, JC Penney, Target and Best Buy as its anchor stores. Malco Theatres operates a venue at the promenade, as does Dave & Buster’s.

The Spare Time Entertainment facility will add an entertainment destination for the region, featuring 21 lanes of string pin bowling (14 main lanes and a seven-lane Elite Suite), a large game room housing up to 140 games, a redemption store, laser tag arena, escape rooms and karaoke room. Food and beverages will be provided by Corleone’s Pizzeria, Restaurant and Sports Bar, a Spare Time staple.

The Rogers location will be the company’s 19th overall. Bowl New England operates in 12 states in New England, New York, the Carolinas, Alabama, Tennessee, Wisconsin, Nebraska and Iowa.

“We are thrilled to be expanding in Arkansas and Rogers looks like a solid destination and vibrant market,” said Corley. “Now that the land deal is done, we can’t wait to put a shovel in the ground, bring our vision to life, and create memorable experiences for the fine folks in northwest Arkansas.”

He added that the projected opening is during the first quarter of 2027.
