The 48th QubicaAMF Bowling World Cup (Nov 24 to Dec 2) in Poland finished Saturday, crowning 23 year old Singapore native Shayna Ng as this year’s champion. Shayna defeated two-time defending champion Aumi Guerra, who was looking to win a third straight title.
Ng posted scores of 224, 267 and 247 to win the championship; unseating Guerra – who faltered in the last round, shooting a 169. Ng now makes the second Singapore woman bowler to win an AMF World Cup title, after Jasmine Yeong-Nathan in 2008.
Ng dedicated the victory to her sister, Mandy, who turned 20 on Saturday.
“It feels great to finally win such a big individual title. Now, the next target is the women’s team event at next year’s World Championship,” said Ng.
