The United States Bowling Congress this week unveiled host venues and dates for its signature national tournaments after a year that saw most of them cancelled due to the coronavirus pandemic.
Here’s a look at where the various events are scheduled to be held:
* Western Bowl and Expo Bowl, Indianapolis — Team USA Trials. The event originally was scheduled to take place in Las Vegas, but Nevada’s governor continues to enforce strict capacity limits at an array of businesses, including bowling centers. The dates remain unchanged: Jan. 2-7.
* The Ashwaubenon Bowling Alley in Green Bay, Wis. — Located just three miles from Lambeau Field, this center will play host to the U.S. Open, Feb. 21-28.
* Gold Coast Bowling Center, Las Vegas — With the hope that restrictions in Nevada will have been relaxed by spring, this 70-lane center is scheduled to host the USBC Senior Queens, March 9-13.
* Gold Coast Bowling Center — USBC Masters, March 29-April 4.
* Sam’s Town Bowling Center, Las Vegas — Super Senior Classic, June 2-6.
* Sam’s Town Bowling Center — USBC Senior Masters, June 7-13.
* Strike Zone at Sunset Station, Henderson, Nev. — 2020 USBC Senior Championship, Aug. 3-6; and 2021 USBC Senior Championship, Aug. 8-14.
* Double Decker Lanes, Rohnert Park, Calif. — U.S. Women’s Open, Aug. 24-31.
Dates for the U.S. Open in Green Bay and the Masters in Las Vegas are subject to change based on the Professional Bowlers Association finalizing its 2021 television schedule with FOX Sports.
The USBC Queens is scheduled for May 12-18 at a location to be determined.
