What once was the Lakewood Theater is now being described as the most intriguing new music venue in the Dallas area — complete with 10 bowling lanes.
The old theater, now known as Bowlski’s, provided a space in which to create something unique, and the owners have done just that with a performance stage and giant screen positioned above the bowling pins.
When larger concerts are scheduled, the lanes can be transformed into a VIP section, and there’s also a balcony that provides stage-level viewing for an additional 300 patrons.
While bowling provides a social activity for music fans to enjoy, the sound of falling pins will not be part of the allure. Three different sound systems in the venue will keep the music “in the faces” of bowlers, according to the owner.
