BPAA OFFICERS’ TERM EXTENSION SOUGHT

Just when you thought the 2022 BPAA Bowling Summit would be all about education, motivation and networking, the agenda has been expanded with a piece of legislation for attendees to consider.

Actually, the proposal is something of a no-brainer, submitted by the BPAA Nominating Committee and supported by the BPAA Board of Directors as well as Executive Director Frank DeSocio. It calls for the suspension of association bylaw 10.01, which deals with the terms of elected officers, which would enable President Jim Decker, Vice President Kevin Krauss and Secretary Tyler Herreman to serve an additional year.

The rationale behind the proposal is that these individuals took office on July 1, 2020, and nearly all of the usual meetings and events they would attend were canceled due to the pandemic.

Voting on the matter will be conducted during the Annual Mid-Winter Membership Meeting at the Summit, and members also were given the opportunity to vote via email prior to the Summit.

Iraq War veteran Melissa Stockwell will deliver what promises to be an inspiring thought-leader address at the Summit, which will be held at the Renaissance Hotel in Palm Springs, Calif., Jan. 9-11. Educational sessions will focus on hospitality, workforce challenges, cashless solutions and government affairs. Proprietors also will have ample opportunities to network with their peers and industry partners.
