The Alabama community of Moody, located about a half-hour east of Birmingham, has entered into a development agreement for a 60,000-sq.-ft. project that would feature a bowling center, trampoline park and other attractions.
Plans call for the venue to serve as the anchor for an entertainment district. According to reports, the city’s agreement with Signature Developments and Starz events would place the project on a 6.7-acre site owned by the city’s commercial development authority. It would enable the transfer of the property to the developer with certain personal and business guarantees to repay the appraised value of the property over 10 years, and the developer has 24 months to build and open the facility.
Also in Alabama, the city of Mobile has been selected for a new Surge Entertainment Center. It will be the third Surge venue in the state, joining the company’s Homewood and Opelika locations. Surge FECs feature numerous attractions, including bowling, ropes courses and laser tag, in addition to food-and-beverage offerings.
