Bowling has been a part of countless renovation and refocused-business projects through the years, but a recently announced conversion in Myrtle Beach, S.C., may be the most unusual.
There, boutique bowling lanes will be among the bevy of attractions in a venue called Roar, which is being built out in the community’s former First Presbyterian Church.
Other planned attractions include an arcade, sports simulators, a dance floor, balcony space for live bands and more.
The venue will have a 1920s theme, and the local city council is reviewing plans for a proposed boutique hotel adjacent to the converted church.
