On the day before Super Bowl Sunday, The Battle of the Businesses Bowling Tournament took place at Northern Aire Lanes in the west-central Minnesota lakes country.
For the last three decades, the Fergus Falls Chamber of Commerce has partnered with the 20-lane center to conduct the tournament, which this year featured a “Lucky Strike” theme.
“We picked a Las Vegas theme since the Super Bowl was in Las Vegas the next day,” said Lisa Workman, president of the Chamber. “We wanted to incorporate a little ‘fun gambling’ for extra pins.”
In previous years, participants that bought the “Strike” or “Spare” packages received a certain number of extra pins, but this year the package holders played cards for their bonus pins.
