BPAA members can now make plans to attend the 2013 BPAA Bowl Summit at the Hyatt Regency Hotel on the San Antonio Riverwalk in Texas. This summit is the premiere annual mid-winter conference for bowling center proprietors, managers and industry leaders. The three-day event ( January 27-30, 2013), is a pageant offering education, networking opportunities, a sneak peek at new and upcoming products as well as industry insight and opinions.
This year’s keynote speaker for the avant-garde “Thought Leader” portion of the Education series is former Olympic Champion swimmer and ambassador Rowdy Gaines. Gaines will use the platform to give proprietors a motivational guide through his life, its trials and tribulations, and how he persevered to become a success in sports and in life. Steve Johnson, executive director of the BPAA spoke about Rowdy and his presence at the summit,
“As an athlete and Olympic Gold medalist, Rowdy has faced numerous successes and difficulties in his life, many of which he is eager to share with our proprietors. We feel his charisma and personality will invigorate our proprietors with knowledge and excitement as they face new business-related challenges every day.”
Gaines is set to speak on Tuesday, January 29, 2013 at 10:15 a.m. local time.

DesignPro 300
Along with the keynote speaker, the 2013 Bowl Summit will serve as the platform for the BPAA to roll out their newest creation in marketing, DesignPro 300. This new software will ensure that all member bowling centers, no matter the size, can produce professional marketing materials at an affordable price.
DesignPro 300 will allow proprietors to customize options for designing flyers, posters, banners, coupons among other items as well as logos and branding packages, stock photography, graphics and icons. The DesignPro 300 software is presented as “an online design portal that will revolutionize the way bowling proprietors market their business.”
The unveiling of this software will be presented during the “Game Changers” portion of the summit. DesignPro 300 creator and and founding partner and software developer at Vavalon Christine Martin will be leading the presentation along with Bart Burger from the BPAA.
The two will give a joint presentation that reveals the “first-of-its-kind” industry marketing software. The goal of the presentation will manifest the hopes of “giving proprietors the ability to develop best-in-class point-of-sale” that can be compared to “Chuck E. Cheese” and “Dave and Buster’s”. As an incentive to the attending members, each will receive a free template for use with the DesignPro 300 in order to complete their campaign.
“With the introduction of DesignPro, we’re now taking a marketing suite of services that was once available to only those centers with marketing staffs or substantial budgets and making them accessible to our entire membership. All this service requires is a computer and an Internet connection,” said Steve Johnson,
“As the competition for consumer time and dollars continues to increase, effective marketing is absolutely vital. This service gives proprietors a major edge in building top of mind awareness and driving consumer traffic to their centers.”
This event will take place on Monday, January 28, 2013 at 11:00 a.m. local time.
