National Learn To Bowl Month is underway this month! This promotion is a part of a national effort to introduce new people to bowling and develop new league bowlers using the Bowling 2.0 learn to bowl program. Bowling proprietors can also earn a chance to win $10,000 in cash and prizes! Most bowling centers in the US start their league bowling starting from mid-August to mid-September which makes October the ideal time to push for new league bowlers.
BPAA member centers can earn a chance to win $10,000 in cash and prizes by following these two steps:
1. Conduct a “Learn To Bowl” program this month, using the Bowling 2.0 program
2. Roll bowlers over into a short season program by November 1
Randy Thompson, chair of the BPAA’s Promotion Action Committee express his excitement about the Learn To Bowl effort,
“We had such great success with this promotion last year, and we had such an overwhelming response and participation from proprietors, it was an easy decision to make.”
“Over 1,300 BPAA centers currently have a Bowling 2.0 kit, making it one of the most successful programs in some time,” Thompson added. “Plus, it gives proprietors a great opportunity to generate new league bowlers from customers who may not have thought about joining a league before.”
This is how National Learn To Bowl Month will work the same as in 2013. Centers will be divided into three categories according to lane size (16-lanes, 16-24 lanes, 25+ lanes) with the top five centers in each division winning cash prizes:
- 1st – $1,000
- 2nd – $750
- 3rd – $500
- 4th – $250
- 5th $200
The winner will be determined by the amount of new league bowlers per lane that roll over from the Bowling 2.0 program. The grand prize winner will an onsite party for its staff and new league members along with a visit from the Bowling 2.0 instructor, Carolyn Dorin-Ballard, for onsite coaching during the league session.
