It has taken the better part of a year, but bowling is now scheduled to return to the Illinois community of Carthage in about six weeks.
The eight-lane facility, which also will include an arcade, is entering the final phase of construction inside what used to be a Dollar General store.
The project is being quarterbacked by Amy Graham, the Community Development Coordinator for Carthage, who has been working with the building’s owner.
There is also the possibility that the business could be structured as a cooperative, with the Illinois Cooperative Development Center providing free technical assistance, training and publications.
Carthage is located about 175 miles northwest of St. Louis.
