Storm Products has announced that Josie Barnes and Thomas Larsen have joined the Team Storm Pro Staff.
Barnes, a three-time PWBA champion, has earned medals around the world as a 13-time member of Team USA.
“I’m so grateful for Storm’s faith in me,” Barnes said. “I have had the opportunity to be a part of an awesome company for nearly 15 years, but prior to that many of my youth accomplishments came with Storm equipment. It means that I have a support system that believes in me as much as I believe in them.”
Barnes was one of the top youth athletes in the United States before a successful collegiate career at Vanderbilt University, and was chosen as the Alberta E. Crowe Star of Tomorrow in 2006.
“Anyone familiar with the sport of bowling in the last decade has heard the name Josie (Earnest) Barnes,” said Gary Hulsenberg, Storm’s Vice President of Business Development. “Her dedication to bowling in every capacity is simply incredible. The way Josie interacts is completely in line with our company values. We’re excited for her to join Team Storm and continue to achieve her goals at the highest levels.”
Added Barnes: “I want to win. Whatever is out there, I want to be competitive. I don’t think that fire will ever go away.”
Larsen, a native of Denmark, is equally enthused about signing with Storm.
“I am super excited to join Team Storm,” he said. “[Pete] Weber, [Norm] Duke, Belmo (Jason Belmonte), Tim Mack and many others have made Hall of Fame careers with Storm, so I am extremely happy to be welcomed to the team. This feels like the start of the second part of my career, and I think it is going to be great.”
Larsen has collected numerous titles in world competition. He was chosen to be part of the Danish National Team in 2005, and earned the Youth Championship title in Belgium (2005) and Finland (2008). He also has picked up numerous titles at the European Championships and World Championships, and remains a member of the Danish National Team. He has collected two WBT/PBA titles and five EBT titles.
Larsen earned a marketing degree from Tietgen Business College, and shares his experience and knowledge to help promote and grow the sport.
