A visitor from New Mexico won a $10 million jackpot on a Megabucks slot machine at the South Point resort in Las Vegas just days before the USBC Open Championships was scheduled to begin at the South Point Tournament Plaza and Bowling Center.
According to the hotel, the jackpot hit on a $5 wager.
This year’s Open Championships entrants — especially those bowling on early-morning or late-night squads — may be interested to know that a new Starbucks location is lopening at the resort, replacing the former Seattle’s Best shop.
“Our team is constantly looking for ways to enhance the property, not only for our amazing guests but for our staff as well,” said Michael Kennedy, director of food operations at South Point. “We look forward to combining an iconic brand, Starbucks, with the customer service our guests know and love.”
Shortly after the build-out of the new Starbucks was announced, a pop-up location opened next to the Benny Binion statue along the walkway to the South Point Tournament Bowling Plaza.
