The Lanes at Sea Gurt, which opened in 1960 as Hyway 35 Lanes and since 1995 has been owned by Nationwide Bowling Corporation, has closed.
Developers purchased the property on which the center sits in Wall, N.J., last year, and plan to demolish or redevelop the facility to better complement the adjacent Sea Girt Square shopping center.
In recent years, investors have been changing the face of the Wall neighborhood, even razing the Circus Drive-In and its iconic clown sign, ending a 64-year run along the Jersey shore for that business.
