Yolanda Alvarez of Broadway Bowl in Santa Cruz, Calif., made history when she became the first woman representing a non-military bowling center to achieve Bowling University Leadership Certification by completing all of the university’s online courses and four capstones.
The program launched in 2010, and 16 have completed it, with Alvarez and Joe Rosner of Performance Entertainment LLC in Windsor, Colo., being the only non-military operators among the group.
Alvarez was honored with a special award during International Bowl Expo 2021, and is pictured in the upcoming October issue of BCM.
