‘HOW WE ROLL’ WILL NOT RETURN FOR A SECOND SEASON

It has turned out to be a very short season for “How We Roll,” the CBS sitcom based on pro bowler Tom Smallwood’s life.

CBS today announced it would not be renewing the program, which starred Pete Holmes as Tom, a Midwest husband and dad who gets laid off from a car assembly line and decides to provide for his family by following his dream of becoming a pro bowler.

Along with Holmes, “How We Roll” starred Katie Lowes as Jen, Chi McBride as Archie, Julie White as Helen and Mason Wells as Sam. For background on the series, read the cover story in the April issue of BCM.

Premiering Thursday, March 31 during TV’s midseason, “How We Roll” has been averaging a 0.4 rating among adults 18-49 — the most coveted age group among advertisers — and 4.4 million total viewers, according to the most current Nielsen data.

For the week of April 25, TV’s top-rated comedy, “Young Sheldon,” attracted 6.9 million viewers.
