LONG-TIME ILLINOIS STATE BPA E.D. PAT BOSCO PASSES AWAY

Patrick F. Bosco, Executive Director Emeritus of the Illinois State and Chicagoland Bowling Proprietors Associations, passed away on July 3. He was 90.

Bosco served bowling center owners in greater Chicago and the entire state of Illinois from 1980 through 1997. Prior to accepting the post, he was the owner and operator of Bloomfield Bowl, a 48-lane center in Connecticut.

He was a past president of the Connecticut State BPA and the Connecticut State Bowling Council. He also served as a BPAA Regional Vice President and as a national BPAA line officer.

Bosco, who was inducted into the Connecticut Bowling Association Hall of Fame in 1981, was responsible the formation of the New England Bowlers Association (NEBA), a “minor league” of sorts for elite bowlers in that region.

In 1985, he oversaw the relocation of the ISBPA/CBPA office from downtown Chicago to suburban Lincolnwood.

More recently, Bosco was a broker who covered the Midwest region for Sandy Hansell & Associates Inc.

He is survived by his wife, Dede Bosco; her children, his three daughters and many grandchildren, great grandchildren and even several great-great grandchildren.

No services are planned.

    I’ve known Pat for nearly 50 years, always a gentleman, always a team player. Our love and condolences to DeDe and all of Pat’s family!
