BAY AREA’S HISTORIC SEA BOWL TO CLOSE

As one traverses Pacific Coast Highway through the community of Pacifica southwest of San Francisco, it’s almost impossible to miss the sign for Sea Bowl that features the center’s mascot, Mr. Pin.

But soon, that sign will come down as proprietor Davis Szeto has announced that he will close the 32-lane center on May 31, ending its 64-year run.

In a letter to center customers, Szeto wrote: “After 60 years of doing business here in Pacifica, we have made the difficult decision to retire and close our family business. It is with mixed emotions that we announce this decision, but we feel that it is time to start a new chapter in our lives.”
