PHOTOGRAPHER GULLEY NAMED TO IBMA HALL OF FAME

The International Bowling Media Association has named Randy Gulley as the 2025 recipient of the Luby Award, emblematic of induction into the IBMA Hall of Fame.

IBMA also announced Mark London as the Mike Hennessy Award of Merit honoree.

Gulley, a St. Louis native living in Pahrump, Nevada, has an extensive background in the industry, including as the unofficial photographer for the sport on social and print media. He has had countless photos published in various bowling publications and newspapers, including BCM.

Gulley also has extensive experience as an administrator, including a stint as IBMA operations manager from 2021 to 2022. He has held numerous positions in bowling organizations, including administrative director of the Federation Internationale des Quilleurs for a year and president of the Colorado State USBC association for a season.

He served as the Colorado High School Bowling Federation president from 2008-10 after being on the Colorado Springs Bowling Association Board from 1991 to 2006. His resumé of contribution also includes being a Citrus Belt (California) Bowling Association director and a March Air Force Base Bowling Center Advisory Committee member.

“The Luby Award really means a lot to me — especially to be recognized as a photojournalist,” Gulley said. “It is an honor to join all those who have come before me. I will be forever grateful.”

London, of Dubuque, Iowa, chaired the IBMA Bowler of the Month Committee — a labor-intensive job, especially for a volunteer — for 12 years. One of his most impactful contributions to the committee involved increasing the details provided on the ballots for nominees, providing voters with a more well-rounded description of accomplishments.

During his tenure, he solicited well-known and respected bowling journalists to provide valued insight on nominees, adding more relevance and credibility to the monthly selections. As chair, London worked with President Jackie Wyckoff and award sponsor Kegel to offer winners the option of donating the cost of the award to the Chuck Pezzano Scholarship Fund, garnering thousands of dollars for the media scholarship.

London currently is a member of the committee that selects candidates for the Luby Hall of Fame award, an honor he received in 2023. He also was inducted into the Minnesota State USBC Hall of Fame’s Pioneer Category last year. London’s media work spans electronic, print and digital platforms.

“I am absolutely stunned and truly humbled by this award,” London said. “I am grateful to my fellow IBMA members for recognizing my passion and interest in bowling media work. It is something I’ve always enjoyed.”
