MAPLE FAMILY CENTERS MARKS 65 YEARS

Maple Family Centers, with locations in New York and Florida, is celebrating its 65th anniversary year throughout the 2025-26 bowling season with a variety of events and a singular goal: to pass the million-dollar mark in funds raised for veterans’ programs and services.

Over the last two decades, Maple Family Centers has raised more than $900,000 for the Bowlers to Veterans Link, which supports therapeutic recreational programs that brighten the lives of veterans. Funds raised at the centers are directed to local veterans’ programs and services in communities across Maple’s footprint.

“One Small Company, One Million Dollars” is how the campaign has been branded by the LaSpina family, which operates Maple Family Centers.

“If every small company raised $1 million for charity, the world would be a little bit better,” said John LaSpina, president of the company and a BPAA past president.

On Sept. 7, what would have been the 117th birthday of LaSpina’s father, the family celebrated the opening of Maple Lanes Brooklyn in 1960 and cut the ceremonial ribbon at Maple Lanes Lakeland (Florida). LaSpina called it “a fun, emotional day.”
