When a pro sports league moves from one television network to another, changes in the broadcast booth are inevitable.
Randy Pedersen, who succeeded Nelson Burton Jr. as the PBA’s color analyst in 2001, managed to sidestep that norm over 19 years with ESPN and six years with FOX Sports. But with the PBA now airing over 10 consecutive Sundays (beginning Feb. 22) on The CW, the entire broadcast team from FOX is gone.
Replacing Pedersen as the color commentator is two-time PBA champion Kyle Sherman, who says he will continue to bowl on the tour. He and fellow pro Brad Miller have more than 219,000 followers on their “Brad and Kyle” YouTube channel.
Stepping into the play-by-play seat is Rick Allen, perhaps best known for his decade as the lead announcer for “NASCAR on NBC” beginning in 2015, as well as other motorsport telecasts. He also has called college football on The CW.
On Jan. 21, sideline reporter Kimberly Pressler announced on her Facebook page that Lucky Strike Entertainment would be moving “in a new direction with its on-air talent for the 2026 season,” and she would not be part of the new team.
